Apa kata saya?

I'll say,
GO FOR IT!

You know, last saturday we went to Surgical Workshop in IMU at Seremban. Do you know that :

Time kita grad nanti, kita akan grad dengan another 7000 medical students?
Time kita nanti, satu department ada dalam 30 HO (depends on hospital la kan)
Macam mana nak jadikan diri kita lebih extrabright dari HO yg lain?
Macam mana nak rebut peluang to proceed with Master programme when there's only about 700-800 tempat kosong?
Macam mana nak rebut dengan Doktor-doktor yg sebelum ni yg masih belum dpt peluang utk proceed?


So here's what we had gained during the workshop. Congrats to the comittee for all those interesting talks by amazing speakers. I really enjoyed it. Tak tido woooo..

So first they introduced us to their specialists. The plastic surgeon, the general surgeon, and another few more general surgeons.

They told us their experiences, from HO until they become one. All those amazing stories which i can summarize as, Doktor muda yang busy gilak handle banyak patients from rural. Yang get the chance to do most procedures without having to rebut with another HO/MO. Because she was forced, sbb tiada yg lain lagi dah.. At time bila dia nak ambil master, she already did most of the procedures yg dia kene buat.

Steps to apply:
1) Isi application form
2) Recommendation from HOD
3) Submit form
4) Interview

What criteria you Need :
have >85% KPI for 3 years or more
Served as MO in government hospitals for atleast 2 years
Have recommendation from HOD
Confirmed in governemtn service, not as contract or wtv

Markah yang dikira utk diambil sbagai student Master (in this case, Surgery)
40% entrance examination (anatomy, physiology, microbe, etc etc)
20% interview (the way we talk, dress ourselves, etc2)
20% surgical experience (kalau dah buat banyak surgery time HO/MO lagi bagus)
10% publication & presentaion (which most of applicants fail to do)
10% course, certification & qualification

And plus, the surgeon said, during interview at his time,  3 questions was asked.
1) penah buat research?
2) penah published paper?
3) penah present at conference? (international lagi bagus)

SO there you go.
Even nobel laureate tu pun cakap , we would like more young researchers, they should do research in clinical years, because we are moving towards that way, and we don't want to miss out.
So , pandai2 la korang try carik supervisor,  jadi sukarelawan utk buat research dia..
time clinical ke, time HO ke, time MO ke.. carik jalan.

AMS? Is a platform. It all depends on you, either to decorate it with kejayaan, or to come out with nothing.
AMS is where you should. do research,produce paper, present, as many as you can.
