Things That Run in My Head

Aaahh~ i feel so relieved.

Remember the last post that i rented about? Regarding tak cukup sampel and what not.
So i wrote an email to my supervisor regarding my concern (classic tak? walhal handphone ada but it was weekend so you see, better don't disturb), and you know what? she immediately came to see me just now.
And explained every single bit about the situation.

She said that you can't pray other people to get sick so that you can simply take their part of body for your specimen. So that you have enough samples. No it wont do. That's selfish.
Plus, current political issues between the heads are disabling me to get the sample from previous cases. So no luck from this.

But what people usually do if they haven't have enough sample is, to do quantitative analysis research instead of qualitative. So that's why in research (in this kinda cases) you have to look at things differently, if you can't do it as what you have planned, you can always turn it into something else or view it from a different perspective..

She's really confident with me and is already happy with my work.
She also said that, i should be working on quantitative analysis.. So the data that i depend on is regarding how many replicates that i've done, so that it will reduce the technical difference. What is technical difference?

Well basically, what makes something significant really depends on these two :
Biological difference (number of samples from patients/mice/etc)
Technical difference (how many different area u took, how many times u did)

So by reducing the technical difference, you are indirectly increasing your significant value.

Well enough said,
what englighten me the most is the part when she said:

Tell me statistician mana yg kata your research is insignificant, i'll go see explain to him directly.
Tell me which conference you'd wanna go, send your abstract to me, and i'll make it happen.

Fuhh!
